Our Staff

Wi and Mark
Mark Ord, and his Thai wife Wi, run the All Points East, S.E.Asia office in Chiang Mai. Mark has over 15 years experience in South East Asia, including several as researcher for guidebooks, before setting up Gecko Travel, now All Points East, in 1999 with sister Lesley. Mark still finds time to lead Vietnam and Cambodia tours whilst Wi, a former tour-guide whom he met one day in Chiang Mai whilst desperate for someone to lead a tour of the night bazaar, is now general manager of All Points East, Thailand.

Lesley
Anyone making enquiries or booking a tour will have come across Lesley Schofield in our UK office. Luckily she changes her appearance for the many Travel Shows she attends. Prior to setting up All Points East she claims to have spent far too many years in Public Sector Administration in the UK. She now spends far too much time bemoaning her lack of opportunity to travel to SE Asia. Lesley’s hobbies are cleaning, grocery shopping and doing the school run which she much prefers to gardening, walking, cooking or reading. (She doesn't especially enjoy go-karting but it was the only picture to hand!)

Jean Daniel
Swiss born Jean-Daniel Schranz - (JD, Geneva Jones or whatever else our passengers choose to call him) - our Thailand manager, has called Thailand his home for the past 20 years and his wealth of local knowledge and love of the region are invaluable on the Thai tours that he leads with such enthusiasm.

Fin
Our man in Cambodia - Tes Viesna or Fin to friends was born in Siem Reap, Cambodia and after several years of organizing logistics as well as guiding our Cambodia trips has recently become GM for our new All Points East Cambodia office. An expert on Khmer history and Angkor temples he's also very knowledgeable about local food and karaoke bars!

Sam
Sam Muir is administrator in our Hampshire office but still finds time to travel extensively in SE Asia. (Though she claims it's for work purposes.) She is seen here last Christmas enjoying her research in Southern Laos.

Ian
Ian Loughrey - All Points East researcher and cycling specialist. His photos are also well-prized additions to our brochure and web-site. English born Ian prefers to do his research by bike to get the yard-by-yard details and is up to some 60,000 kms in S.E.Asia. He's currently checking out accommodation and trekking routes in China's Yunnan Province for a projected new tour later on in the year where he's on a mere 30,000kms (last we heard from him).

Jo
For genuine 'family business' credentials, Mark and Lesley's mother, Jo Baker helps out in our UK office. As a talented painter she comes in particularly handy as artistic consultant for brochures and advertising.
