"Burma, quite unlike any land you know about" - famously written by Kipling some 100 hundred years ago and still very true today - even for experienced South East Asia travellers. Yes Myanmar (Burma)is a time capsule in some ways though it is much more than that and has its own very unique culture, heritage and landscapes.
A large (well long!) country stretching from the tropical Malay Peninsula to the snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas on the Chinese border, Myanmar is also a bridge between South East and South Asia and all these influences show in its rich history, vibrant contemporary culture, bewildering ethnic mix, unique food and highly varied scenery. Truly - a fascinating destination!
Our decision to offer tours to Myanmar (Burma) is based on recent comments by Aung San Suu Kyi and discussions with Responsible Travel as well as out own recce trip and you can find a detailed overview here of All Points East's policy on tourism in the country.
