Extensions - Bangkok and Surrounds

Bangkok City Extensions

A wide range of hotels at reasonable prices is available in Bangkok for those wishing to extend their stay in the Thai capital; riverside luxury at the Royal Orchid Sheraton, spa facilities at the Marriot Spa or the lively Banglamphu/Khao San Road area with the Viengtai Hotel. Do your own thing or guided tours available.

Kanchanaburi

A few extra days in the Bangkok area could be well spent in nearby Kanchanburi Province. Best known for the infamous “Bridge on the River Kwai” it is also the site of some of Thailand’s most beautiful and easily accessible National Parks. Your stay can be as relaxing or exciting as you wish from bathing in waterfalls and staying on floating raft houses to trekking along the route of the “Death Railway”, kayaking or elephant riding (from 2 to 5 days, minimum 2 persons - trip code XT7)

Ayuthaya

The ruined former capital of Siam, UNESCO World Heritage site, Ayuthaya, lies around 2 hours north of Bangkok. A 2 day, 1 night exploration of the site includes a river cruise and visits by foot or bicycle. Accommodation in a centrally located hotel also allows your to explore the modern town of Ayuthaya’s markets and food stalls at your leisure.
